What is meant by cultural competence and cultural sensitivity? These concepts are not always prioritized in animal welfare programs, and it can be difficult to put these ideas into action while also maximizing our animal welfare goals. This discussion will first cover what cultural competency and sensitivity mean and what role they have to play in community-based animal welfare programs. We will walk through some practical ways to implement these concepts in our programs while still reaching our animal welfare-related goals.
