Do your agency’s standard operating procedures require you to automatically euthanize rabies vector species, even when human or domestic animal exposure has been ruled out? These types of policies, which may be required by local and/or state health departments, can have detrimental impacts on local populations of bats (which are already threatened by white nose syndrome).
