With the rise of pet keeping, increase in the buying of pets and lack of awareness of the needs of pets by guardians, pet abandonment is becoming a global phenomenon. Dr. Patel will present a case study demonstrating how abandonment is creating challenges that impact free-roaming dog populations in India and share strategies that HSI/India have developed to address these challenges.
