In this workshop, we will discuss how, in most cases, animal welfare laws are lagging behind programmatic progress in recent years that focuses on support services and keeping people and pets together. Most local and state policies that are punitive conflict with access to care goals. Human Animal Support Services (HASS) will share ordinance audits from pilot shelter cities across the country and templates for updating local laws to be more equitable and inclusive.
